About Joyce E. Brooks

Joyce E. Brooks is a leadership strategist, author, and speaker who equips leaders and professionals to lead with clarity, courage, and conviction-without sacrificing their health, peace, or purpose. As the Owner and Managing Member of Brooks Consulting, LLC, Joyce helps organizations and communities build resilient leaders by focusing on leadership development, organizational strategy, and whole-person well-being.

With a foundation in engineering and more than two decades of leadership experience, Joyce brings both analytical rigor and human-centered wisdom to her work. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of South Alabama and a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. After more than 2 decades with Alabama Power Company, Joyce chose to retire and step fully into her purpose. She helps leaders navigate pressure, change, and responsibility with strength and grace.

Joyce is the author of Self-Inflicted Overload, Stress Less and Live More, It Ain’t Over!, and Shift Happens. Through her writing and speaking, she challenges individuals to release unrealistic expectations, reclaim their peace, and lead from a place of balance rather than burnout. She is also deeply committed to shaping the next generation, authoring children’s books that teach confidence, perseverance, and character, including The Power of Two Words – A Little Motherly Advice, Mr. Brown, Will You Please Open The Door!, and Give It To Me Now !.

A woman of faith, Joyce attributes her resilience and purpose to God’s grace. Her story is one of perseverance and hope. As a mother, two-time breast cancer survivor, entrepreneur, artist, and widow, she wakes each morning anchored in three powerful words that guide her life and leadership: “It Ain’t Over!”

Joyce lives her purpose on purpose. She believes if she can help empower others to lead with compassion and create a lasting impact while protecting what matters most: their health, their families, and their peace then she has successfully passed the torch.

Shift Happens

It Ain't Over!

There is always an opportunity to make a comeback from a setback and you can find an opportunity in every situation no matter how bleak it appears on the surface.

Self-Inflicted Overload

Not having work-life balance is a major stumbling block to achieving one’s desires (i.e. the perfect day, quality relationships, a happy family, healthy living, peace, and the list goes on and on).
