it ain't over!
Joyce’s journey and purpose is authentic and inspiring. As an entrepreneur, mother, two-time cancer survivor, and widow, she wakes up every morning with three little words on her mind, “It Ain’t Over!” She lives her truth by encouraging others to realize that no matter what storm you are experiencing: “It Ain’t Over!”
Joyce has had to battle breast cancer twice. But through the Grace of God, she survived and continues to thrive. Experiencing cancer and unexpectedly losing her husband of 14 years gave Joyce both the courage and opportunity to pursue paths that previously seemed impossible. After a 21 year career with Alabama Power Company, she stepped out on faith, retired and started Brooks Consulting, LLC. The company’s mission is to assist businesses and organizations gain a competitive advantage by focusing on leadership development, organizational strategy, and individual well being.
Joyce is the author of “Self-Inflicted Overload”, “Stress Less and Live More”, “It Ain’t Over!” and “Shift Happens”.
Through her works, she encourages individuals to live a more balanced, stress free and fulfilling life.
Joyce has now set her sites on encouraging the next generation, the millenniums, K5, tweens and teens with the release of her first children’s/young adult books titled, “The Power of Two Words – A Little Motherly Advice” and “Mr. Brown, Will You Please Open The Door!”
Joyce was born and raised in Prichard, Alabama. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical engineering from the University of South Alabama and a Master’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Today, she resides in Birmingham, Alabama with her two sons, Jae, 18, and Matthew, 16.
